An excellent, busy weekend memorial day weekend. We began the weekend Friday night watching the Dole-Humphries band at The Backyard Grub ‘n Brews up on Golden Valley. Great new restaurant, excellent selection of grub n’ brews. Outdoor patio with fire place ! Great place to eat and relax (right in front of Rattlers).
Saturday was spent preparing for the Safari Party with help from Chuck McCalmot and Ed Barger showed up a little later to help setup sound before going to an art exhibit before returning and helping us pack up sound.
We had a great time at the Safari Party with upwards of 40 people attending in the backyard of The Honest Lawyer in downtown Newhall.
Tom Alfera started the evening off with Dave Pierce on harmonica. Rich Marchetta followed up – great to see Rich after a long absence – with Dan Kirkpatric.
Louis from Mugzy’s Music brought a couple of friends, good too see Louis !
RSU played some acoustic with tributes to Greg Allman, who sadly passed away, with an ensemble cast of people sitting in – see the pics – and then did some electric to wind up the evening.
Aurora handled everything else !
Next up is VFW 6885 on Sierra Highway this coming Saturday, June 3rd.
