Sand Fire Monday 25th Photos

The Sand Fire destroyed so much vegetation, 18 structures and caused one fatality (so far).  Here are some of the best photos taken after going back into Sand Canyon.  At this time the evacuation has not been lifted and I was only there for a short time.  Most of these photos were either taken from the hill behind our house – St. James Wood – on Iron Canyon / N. Iron Canyon.  A few of them were taken either on the neighbour’s property or in the Sand Canyon area.

I have not captioned all of the photos or provided descriptions in the interest of saving my time and getting them up where you can see them.  You are free to link / share the photos but please provide links back to the band – and if you can, bring your friends out to see is / talk to us.  We’re at Wolf Creek Brewing this Friday and Big Oaks Lodge on Saturday.  Don’t forget, we also host an open mic at VFW 6885 on Sierra Highway on Wednesday.

There are a lot of photos in this gallery so it may take a while to load.  Rather than creating a slide show, I have created a thumbnail mosaic which makes it a little faster and easier to use.

These photos are mainly from Monday 25th July 2016.

Just as I am posting this I hear our evacuation is lifted as of 7:00 p.m. tonight.  Woo-hoo, thank you fire, police and all first responders, emergency personnel, the Von’s at Soledad and Sand Canyon that provided free water on Saturday during the evacuation !

God bless you all.
